The Beginner A course is designed for children with no previous experience.
The content moves through:
- Finger numbers
- Recognising patterns on the piano keyboard
- Reading music on the Grand Staff
- Reading note and rest values
- Understanding Signs and & Terms
Beginner B & C follows on with further complexity for the young musician
Prep One is designed for older children, teenagers and adults with no previous experience or those who used to play an instrument and would like a refresher.
The content moves through:
- Piano keyboard geography
- Reading the Grand Staff
- Note and Rest Values
- Time Signatures
- Scales and Chords
- Copying Music correctly
- Analysis and Musical Terms
Prep B follows on with further complexity for the older musician
Basic Rudiments is designed for students who have a minimum level of Grade One Theory. It spans knowledge between AMEB Grades 1 – 3 Musicianship exam levels
Intermediate Rudiments is designed for students who which to explore AMEB Grade 3 – 5 music theory concepts.
Advanced Rudiments is equivalent to AMEB exam levels 6 to completion.
If students prefer to study the AMEB Theory / Musicianship Syllabus, theory classes could be offered at each Grade Level for 1, 2, 3, or 4. Each exam level would take between 2-3 terms to study, depending on the amount of homework the class were prepared to complete each week. An online AMEB exam would then be sat to gain the certificate.
